Habitat for Humanity
There are 3 major ways you can volunteer to help us build our 7th Habitat Home this summer. After you review the following information, and make a decision on how you would like to help, please print and complete the SIGN-UP SHEET below and return it to the Church’s Main Office no later than Sunday, May 25th.
Volunteer Opportunity #1: Help Build the House
No construction experience or special tools are required, as Habitat provides on-site supervision, training, and all the equipment we might need. Everyone should dress for the weather, and bring some sunscreen and work gloves. If you have a hammer and a nail pouch, that would help too. You must be 16 years of age or over.
Each day we will do something different. Please refer to the SIGN-UP SHEET.
Volunteer Opportunity #2: Provide/Prepare/Serve a Meal for the Workers
We provide the workers donuts and juice in the morning, water/Gatorade during the day, and lunch (sandwiches, hamburgers, chips, cookies, etc) around noon. The number of people we serve each day is listed on the SIGN-UP SHEET.
This is a great serving opportunity for a small group or community group, or for families who have kids too young to build, but still want to participate.
Volunteer Opportunity #3: Transport Tables/Supplies to and from Church
Each of the days we serve, we take tables, chairs, ice chests full of water and Gatorade, and a few other misc supplies to our work site in the morning and set it all up. Then, after lunch is served, we tear it down and then take it back to church. It usually takes 2 vehicles: a pick-up truck and a large car, van, or SUV, to transport everything.
You can volunteer to do both the morning and afternoon trips, or you can team up with a couple of friends and you do one and they do the other.
